Woodsy’s Music will sponsor the Western Reserve Guitar Contest on Sunday, June 7th in the Woodsy’s Performance Annex at 124 E. Main St. in Kent. Guitarists age 12-17 will have an opportunity to play one piece of music of their choice, accompanied or solo, and be judged and critiqued by renowned Cleveland rock artist Neil Zaza.
The entire format will be much like the solo adjudication process used for school band or orchestra students. High school music students have always been able to challenge themselves by participating in this type of “learning contest” where they are judged, not against each other, but against a standard of excellence. It is our desire to provide this same opportunity for young guitarists.
All participants must be taking private lessons and have their
teacher’s recommendation and signature to take part. Categories to
participate in will include acoustic guitar (steel string or classical)
electric guitar and bass guitar. Students may play unaccompanied,
accompanied live on piano or guitar, or accompanied by a CD from a
published music source. Students may perform for a rating or for
comments only.

and here for the application to participate. There is a $10 application fee.
Please call the store at 330-673-1525 or 1-800-468-1525 and ask for Gary or Aaron if you have questions or need assistance.
