The new and improved Zoom H4n
The Zoom H4n Handy Recorder is a serious upgrade to what was already a fine product, the original H4 hand held digital recorder. New features on the H4n include a built in speaker and variable speed playback for “phrase training.” The best new feature on the H4n is probably the microphones – built in x/y stereo mics that can be angled at either 90 or 120 degrees. You also get an onboard mid-side matrix decoder for the ultimate stereo mic setup.
Improved features on the Zoom H4n include a “Stamina” mode for long battery life, four channel simultaneous recording using the built in and external mics and a much larger screen than the original H4 had. There are other little improvements like the battery door is better and it’s easier to get the cards in and out. It’s a nice upgrade.
