The Peavey Sanctuary Series mixers, S-14 and S-24, have a feature set that makes them a very attractive option for church sound system installations. The Peavey Sanctuary Series are analog consoles with some of the features that make digital mixers such a great fit in a church setting. We will suggest the S-14 or S-24 for a couple of different reasons.
1) The church may not have the budget for a full blown digital mixer.
2) The church has a qualified sound person who wants an analog board, but can’t be present for every service or event.
The first four channels of both the S-14, and the larger S-24, utilize Peavey’s unique “Automix” feature. This is basically an advanced ducking system which allows the user to prioritize the channels and automatically turn down microphones not in use. This is especially useful when the speaker has a podium mic as well as a lavalier wireless. These four channels also have a single knob compressor to prevent unwanted volume spikes. Other very useful features include automatic feedback reduction (which is excellent) and an unusual mid range control which allows users to reduce low mids or add high mids by turning the knob left or right. The control affects a different frequency in each direction. The mic preamps sound good, the built in effects are fine and all the inputs and outputs can be run balanced.
The Peavey Sanctuary Series mixers are an excellent option for many church sound systems. Ask the experts at Woodsy’s to assess your needs and make a recommendation!
