Tech 21 California Pedal
The Character Series from Tech 21 features the California, British and Blonde distortion pedals. Designed to be used as a traditional stompbox or as direct recording devices, these stylish offerings are extremely versatile. The Sans Amp pedals have always had one of the best speaker emulation circuits for direct recording into your computer or stand alone digital recorder. You can also run them through the effects loop of your amp and avoid hitting the front end preamp with the speaker emulation.
The California offers classic Mesa/Boogie® tones form the Mark I series up through the big Dual Rectifier distortion. Speaker emulation is based on a high wattage EV 12″.
The Blonde will give you those great, glassy Fender® sounds, but with way more gain available than on your Deluxe Reverb. Speaker here is based on a vintage Jensen.
The British, of course, would be the Marshall® tribute, from Bluesbreakers to Plexis to 70′ and 80′s series. Speaker emulation is Celestion Greenbacks.
