Used Martin 5-18 Marty Robbins Model

Very gently used Marty Robbins Custom Artist Edition from Martin Guitars. The Marty Robbins 5-18 is a 12-fret (to the body) design with small dimensions (11 1/4” across the lower bout) and short (21.4”) scale length.

Each inside label is signed by Marty’s son Ronny and numbered in sequence – this is #12.

  • Size 5 mini guitar honors the famed singer and race car driver.
  • Texas-shaped inlay at the 5th fret and a lone star at the 7th.
  • Mahogany back and sides,
  • Adirondack top,
  • tortoise binding and pickguard,
  • ebony straight-line bridge with long saddle,
  • nut width is 1-11/16″,
  • scale length 21.4″.

Weekend Warriors!

Woodsy’s Music in Kent is once again offering the NAMM affiliated program Weekend Warriors.

This program is for young adults to baby boomer musicians who want to play in a band for the first time or maybe relive the “good ole’ days” of their youth. Designed for intermediate and experienced guitarists, drummers, vocalists, and keyboardists, our “Warriors” work with a professional couch and then perform in a concert at the Kent Stage. We provide the sound gear and an experienced coach to work with you. This is a great way to meet new musicians, play in a band, and just have a lot of fun.

Sessions are 2 hours long meeting once a week for 6 weeks. Cost is $125.00.

Application deadline is Saturday, May 21st.

Rock School is back!

Woodsy’s Music in Kent is offering three Rock School programs this summer. All programs run for 6 weeks (Week of June 5th to the week of July 10th). Members rehearse under the guidance of a professional rock musician coach in preparation for a Concert at Kent’s famed Kent Stage on Sunday July 17th. Guidelines are found in the application at our store.  The deadline for application is May 21st, 2011.

Rock School

Rock School is an opportunity for intermediate and advanced Guitarists, Drummers, Keyboardists, and Vocalists (age 13-18)  to rehearse and perform in a real rock band.   Applicants may sign up as an individual, with friends, or as a complete band . One and a half  hours session once a week, cost $120.

Rock School 101

This program is geared towards younger musicians (ages 9-12) who began studying their instruments at a younger age and have achieved the playing proficiency required to begin a rock band experience. One and a half  hours session once a week, cost $120.

Rock School X2

For already established groups  who may or may not be part of the Rock School program. This group meets twice a week, doubling the rehearsal time of the other programs for a discounted fee.  One and a half hours session TWICE a week,  Cost $185.
